Gem-A to slash course & member fees at BaselWorld

Association celebrates return to the show with limited 10% discount.

The Gemmological Association of Great Britiain (Gem-A) will offer 10% discount on all of its courses, membership fees and renewals during BaselWorld as it celebrates a return to the show after 20 years’ absence.

Gem-A will use the discount to encourage and further develop relationships with the international gem community. Basel is also home to one of Gem-A’s three Approved Practical Providers (GAPPs) in Switzerland, making it an important centre for Gem-A’s operations in Europe.

James Riley, Gem-A chief executive, said: “We’re really excited about returning to BaselWorld after such a long absence and we wanted to share this excitement with members and potential customers by offering a special discount.”

"Education is especially in demand in Europe at the moment and we’re really keen to offer our world famous courses to enthusiasts and professionals who want to continue to progress their careers. The 10% offer is not only to encourage new customers – those who’ve thought of taking a professional qualification but don’t currently see this as a necessity in these tough economic times – but also to encourage our members to renew their membership or make an essential purchase. As we know that many people’s purse strings are knotted tight at the moment, this is Gem-A’s way of trying to make the burden on those striving for excellence a little lighter.”

Gem-A plans to meet current students from Switzerland and Europe during its appearance at BaselWorld, with discount offered between April 25 and May 2.
