Gemex set to glitter at Luxury and JCK shows

Platinum sales at Gemex now account for over 2.5 percent of all platinum hallmarked in the UK.

London-based company will take diamond bridal range to Las Vegas.

Diamond-set wedding and eternity band specialists Gemex has set its sights on America, with stands lined up at both the Luxury and JCK jewellery shows in Las Vegas.

The company will showcase its Raphael Collection at the shows, which include stackable wedding and eternity rings in a range of sizes, styles, widths, stone weights, metals and finishes.

Gemex sales director Lee Ruben visited JCK last year, taking home the opinion of US jewellery retailers that they were not "as spoilt" for choice compared to their UK when it came to high quality, precision-set diamond bridal bands.

The Raphael Collection will be shown at Luxury, a specialist, selective jewellery show which boasts a very high level of application criteria.

Ruben said: "We’ll be among the biggest and best suppliers in the world so it will be very interesting to see what happens. Our aim will be to open an office on New York’s 47th Street and if we can give the same level of service and offer consistently high quality innovative designs as in the UK, there is no reason why we cannot make our US venture into a great success."

In the past two and a half years, Gemex has won regular business with over 1,400 jewellers in the UK, Ireland and in Scandinavia, and was a finalist at the 2010 UK Jewellery Awards in the Supplier of the Year Category. Its platinum sales now account for over 2.5 percent of all platinum hallmarked in the UK.

Gemex will be at Booth LUX 431 at both Luxury and JCK which run back-to-back from May 31st – June 6th at the Mandalay Bay, Las Vegas.
