Diamond jewellery brand Gemsone enjoyed strong sales during its first Valentine’s Day in the UK thanks to an innovative night out and jewellery package.
Gemsone put together a promotional Valentine’s Day package for its retailers that offered consumers flowers, chocolates, half-price dinner in a restaurant and a piece of diamond jewellery all for £99.
The price-focused packaged proved a hit with Valentine’s Day shoppers, with one Gemsone retailer selling 35 of the deals. Another Gemsone retailer supported the promotion with 150 radio adverts and two full-page ads in a local news paper and Gemsone sales director David Gilbert said that as a result the retailer "reported an amazing response".
Gilbert said: "What we can say is that retailers who use inventive initiatives at times like Valentine’s will generally reap the rewards of their efforts, and that’s the point – no effort no reward.
"Flowers, chocolates, dinner and diamond jewellery for £99 is going to make a lot of people want to know more. It’s not just about that sale for Valentine’s, it’s about attracting new customers to your business. Our all year initiatives coupled with bridal and high fashion jewellery will give independent jewellers the edge they need."
Gemsone is a US jewellery company that specialises in diamond jewellery, including wedding and engagement rings. It launched in the UK in mid 2012.
