Ratner says he is positive his jewellery will be a success in country.
Gerald Ratner is set to make a push into the Indian jewellery retail market with an Indian version of his online store, selling Asian gold.
Ratner, who is famed for his value approach to jewellery retail and product, announced that he will launch his Gerald Online store in India during a recent visit to Mumbai.
According to Retail Digital, he said that Gerald Online could reap great success in the Indian market, and that he was looking forward to unlocking the “great potential” of India’s growing online retail market, which he described as being in its infancy.
He is not set to retail his affordable 9ct gold and diamond jewellery, however, and will instead align the product with the popular tastes among Indian and Asian jewellery shoppers, with 18ct and 24ct gold designs.
Ratner has joined forces with Iksula, an Indian online solutions provider, to develop the technical aspects and marketing of the Indian Gerald Online website.
