Hello Kiity and Angry Birds jewels to widen retailer’s customer base.
Chow Tai Fook Jewellery Group has announced its latest financial results, with revenue up 26% in the third quarter of fiscal 2014, driven by sales of gold jewellery and products.
According to a statement released on the Hong Kong Stock Exchange, the company’s mainland China sales grew 34% in the three month period to December 31 2013, while its Hong Kong and Macau sales climbed 18%.
The retailer, which last year avoided being fined in a Chinese gold price fixing scandal, said that gold products remained its best-sellers, accounting for 57% of its total revenue.
According to Reuters, the jeweller is planning to broaden its customer base by focusing more affordable collections with Hello Kitty and Angry Birds themes, as well as on online sales.
