Goldsmiths’ Company gears up for Make Your Mark 2017

The Goldsmiths’ Company is building up to host the largest precious metal event for UK students.

Back for the fourth consecutive year, London’s Goldsmiths’ Hall will host Make Your Mark, the UK’s biggest careers event for apprentices and students of jewellery and allied trades.

Taking place October 31 – November, Make Your Mark is a free event for students studying (full or part-time) on a precious metal course in the UK – both degree level and short course, and their tutors.

The two day event is looking to provide students with opportunities to listen to inspirational talks from industry leading figures, watch live demos and view exhibitions of entries into the new Make You Mark Awards. The event will also be offering training students industry-based careers advice.

The event which was founded in 2014 is led by the Goldsmiths’ Company Assay Office, and supported by the Goldsmiths’ Company and the Goldsmiths’ Centre.

Dr Robert Organ, deputy warden of the Goldsmiths’ Company Assay Office, comments: “At the Goldsmiths’ Company, part of our ethos is to encourage and assist people to enter the trade, whether it is through educational workshops, visits to colleges, free Library support, precious metal bursaries or apprenticeships.  Underlining this support is Make Your Mark.”

As part of the event, the Goldsmiths’ Company Assay Office is offering all students attending an exclusive Laser Hallmarking Package for free. This package comprises of a ten year registration and laser software set-up in preparation for laser hallmarking.
