Graff has opened its first store in mainland China at the Peninsula shopping centre in Shanghai.

Graff Diamonds chairman Laurence Graff said: “Following the success of new Graff salons in the US and Geneva last year, we are eagerly anticipating our new projects in Asia. After the sensational Tokyo and Hong Kong opening in early 2008, it made sense to open a store in Shanghai in 2010.”

Graff enlisted the skills of French interiors designer Jean-Pierre Gilardino to create the 100sqm store, which is located on the ground floor of the new shopping arcade. In-keeping with Graff’s boutiques in Tokyo, Hong Kong and Geneva, the store has been given a contemporary look.

Gilardino said: “Having designed many of the Graff stores around the world in a more neoclassical, traditional look, my recent work for Graff is moving towards a more modern look, featuring materials such as ebony and bronze.”
