Luxury jeweller Graff Diamonds has unveiled the largest D flawless heart shape diamond in the world.
Titled the Graff Venus’, the striking stone weighs 118.78cts and has been graded a D colour, flawless, type IIA with excellent polish, excellent symmetry and no fluorescence – the very the very highest accolade a diamond can achieve.
The Graff Venus was cut from a 357 carat rough diamond discovered in 2015 at the Letšeng Mine in Lesotho. From discovery to completion, the process of analysis, cutting and polishing took 18 months.
As this has never been attempted before, special tools were developed in order to cut the Graff Venus and the process required the world’s most skilled and experienced diamond craftsmen.
Chairman of Graff Diamonds, Laurence Graff, comments: “We were given a once in a lifetime opportunity with the Graff Venus and we created absolute perfection. I am proud to say that we delivered the very best. The Graff Venus is testament to the skill and expertise of our elite team.”
He adds: “The stone itself is beyond words. It is the most beautiful heart shape diamond I have ever seen.”
Over half of the world’s top 20 largest diamonds discovered this century have been cut and polished by Graff.
