Transactional site to go live in autumn

London independent retailer and brand Guy&Max is planning an overhaul of its website that will see it sell lower-priced jewellery online by autumn.

Guy&Max plans to sell jewellery priced in the hundreds online and some lines will only be available on the website.

Guy&Max co-owner Guy Shepherd said: “There are a number of our products that quite frankly aren’t worth the customer coming into the shop and spending time pouring over. As a sweeping generalisation I would say that in terms of price, the hundreds will be online and the thousands will be in the shop.”

The website will be developed this spring, tested over summer and launched in autumn.

Shepherd said: “It is an experiment about the price points and how comfortable people are buying online.”

As well as its retail store in London’s Shepherd’s Market, Guy&Max wholesales its designs. It is currently stocked in six independent stores, including Ogden of Harrogate, and is actively seeking new stockists around the country.
