Hallmarking up 12.3% year-on-year in June as 9ct and 14ct gold soar

Hallmarking figures compiled by Assay Office Birmingham for June 2015 show a significant increase in items assayed across 9ct, 14ct and 18ct gold categories compared to the same period in 2014. 

Silver also performed strongly with the total number of items assayed rising 10.3%. The only category to not show gains was palladium, with the total number of items assayed falling by 2,747 (23.8%) compared to June 2014.
