Hallmarking up 5.3% in September as gold, silver and platinum soar

Hallmarking figures compiled by Assay Office Birmingham for September 2015 show an increase in items assayed across gold, silver and platinum compared to the same period in 2014. 

The number of units hallmarked by the four UK Assay Offices in September 2015 is up by 5.3% on September 2014.

Gold articles hallmarked were up 5.6%, Silver articles up 5.0% and Platinum up 10.6%. Conversely, Palladium articles hallmarked were down 11.3%.
