Harry Winston appoints new UK managing director

Dennis O Connor joins the prestigious jewellers from De Beers.

Harry Winston, Inc. has appointed Dennis O’Connor as its new managing director for the UK.

O’Connor will be overseeing all retail operations for the region. The appointment is part of the company’s overall strategic plan to further develop its global operations under the direction of new president and chief executive Frédéric de Narp.

The managing director will work from London and is to report directly to de Narp. He will be replacing Lord Bruce Dundas, who recently left the company.

De Narp said: “This is a very exciting time for Harry Winston. We have a solid plan in place to develop the Brand worldwide, supported by team of the most experienced and knowledgeable experts in the industry.

“With his passion for fine jewellery and extensive background in luxury, Dennis will play an integral role in further building our UK operations, and I am thrilled to have an executive of his calibre behind the Brand.”

O’Connor formerly worked at De Beers as director of international high jewellery. Before joining De Beers, he spent ten years with Cartier as director of its London flagship store.
