"Gesture-driven" experience allows for big screen designing.
Augmented reality experts Holition has teamed up with jewellery brand Georg Jensen to launch a touch-screen and gesture-drive program allowing customers to design rings with the wave of a hand.
The system uses technology akin to that of the Kinect program used in X-Boxes that allows users to interact with a screen through a waves of their arms or hands.
Georg Jensen has launched its Fusion Ring Builder, made using augmented reality from Holition’s partner John Miles, which allows users to go online and play with tools enabling them to design and select products with the wave of a hand.
Users are able to activate a range of functions such as selecting a metal colour, the number of diamonds, and their carat weights.
The Fusion Ring Builder also allows the user to stack their own unique mix and personal stylefrom a possible 4,000 combination using up to four individual rings.
The technology is on show at the Georg Jensen boutique on New Bond Street in London.
