Scheme allows affordable access to benches and CAD facilities.
Holts Academy has launched an initiative called The Scheme, offering affordable pay-as-you go bench space and drop-in CAD facilities for jewellery designers.
As a way of continuing to support the jewellery industry, Holts Academy of Jewellery is Has launched The Scheme to providing flexible workspace to jewellers.
Holts explains that for micro jewellery businesses the idea of being commited to a workshop unit for a montly fee can often be daunting, but by becoming a member of The Scheme, businesses and start ups will get access to Holts new premises and its facilities at Petersham House.
Members will be able to produce work in London’s jewellery district Hatton Garden, surounded by a wealth of local suppliers and manufacturers.
The Scheme has been conceived by the Holts Academy director Lee Lucas in order to bridge the gap between studying to be a jeweller and actually becoming one. More than just accessing bench space, The Scheme aims to unite graduates with professionals of the trade under a network umbrella.
For an annual membership fee of £50 and montly subscriptions starting for as little as £20, members will be able to choose when, how often and for how long they need to be using the facilities.
Furthermore, when joining The Scheme, each member will receive vouchers worth £500 to spend with local suppliers and manufacturers, as well as many more benefits connected to the Academy such as discounts for courses, trouble shooting sessions and access to a series of events.
