College will offer six-month CAD and manufacturing courses in London.
Holts Academy has announced that it is now able to offer two pioneering new Level 3 Certified Diplomas, the first to exist in the country.
The new qualifications have been developed after enormous demand from renowned companies in the jewellery industry. They will allow for more in-depth study of jewellery manufacture, with more intensive courses which run for a longer period.
The courses have been designed to prepare students for the advanced challenges and rigours of what a fully-trained jewellery manufacturer would expect to see in a professional environment.
There will be two new diplomas to choose from, a Level 3 Industry Certified Diploma in Jewellery Manufacture (ICJM) and a Level 3 Industry Certified CAD Design Diploma (ICCD).
The Industry Certified Jewellery Manufacture diploma is a specialist goldsmithing course for those with either a level 2 qualification in jewellery manufacture or equivalent existing jewellery making skills.
By helping students hone their hand-skills in a broad range of techniques, the course will strengthen bench skills and ultimately see students producing jewellery up to a commercial standard.
The Industry Certified CAD/CAM Diploma (ICCD) diploma is a specialist CAD/CAM-based manufacturing course for those with a solid grounding in jewellery making skills at the bench.
Learners will be trained in using and managing all stages of computer aided design and rapid prototyping up to professional working standards required for industry. A broad spectrum of approaches and topics will be introduced to help prepare students for using CAD and CAM technology to maximum efficiency in manufacturing.
Places for July and September 2011 are extremely limited so those interested should register as soon as possible.
