This summer jewellery supplier Gecko opened the doors to its Essex HQ and welcomed guests for the first time.

In 24-years of trading the company has never felt the need to showcase its expertise in such a way, but with its responsible, ethical and social policies stronger than ever, 2015 was seen as the perfect time to do a little well-deserved showing off. Welcoming guests at the door was Richard Cox, a relatively new recruit to the Gecko fold. He says: “I joined Gecko last year and brought into the business a structured process along with key measures and objectives that has delivered measurable success in the last 12 months. There is nothing more fulfilling than empowering your team to deliver with success breeding success.”

Richard’s proudest moments since joining Gecko have been leading the discussions and negations leading to the successful acquisition of an Orla Kiely jewellery licence. “I now look forward to developing the sales strategy for the domestic market and also the USA where Orla Kiely has a huge following,” he adds.

To celebrate this achievement, Richard opted for Orla Kiely’s showroom as his Hot 100 picture location, explaining: “I am drawn to her brand which is vibrant and colourful with a distinct air of freshness.”

Aside from this, Gecko has also established a travel retail division and won business with airlines, cruise ships and airports in the last 12 months – representing an important step both internationally and domestically.

Outside of the world of jewellery though, Richard is a mad sports fan and follows most major sports in the UK and the United States. His current roster of teams includes West Ham United, Essex cricket club, the Boston Red Sox, Chicago Bulls and Alabama College football team.
