It’s been a whirlwind 12 months for Anthony, who celebrated opening his first Pandora concept store in his home town earlier this year.
Anthony explains: “It is something I regret not doing much earlier, but I guess hindsight is a wonderful thing! I felt very privileged to be opening the store in my home town. It has transformed the High Street in that area and encouraged investor confidence in the town.”
Anthony says his commitment to branded jewellery is stronger than ever, with 50 brands in his portfolio, but he also admits that he has gone back to his “roots” to focus on his fine jewellery ranges.
“We pride ourselves on offering a very diverse range of jewellery and watches. Purchasing an additional property to extend the business has enabled us to showcase our collections in a far more organised manner and we hope by the end of 2015 we will be offer a completely unique customer experience in the area.”
Anthony is lucky to have a supportive partner and son who are equally passionate about the jewellery industry. He says: “It has been extremely important in recent years to have their continued support. I would find it extremely difficult to go home and not be able to discuss work because it really is such an enormous part of my life.”
Aside from work, Anthony has recently mastered the art of skiing and aims to hit the slopes once or twice per year. “Despite once being airlifted to hospital for emergency surgery after a bad fall, I am still obsessed with the feeling you get from being high in the mountains in some of the most beautiful surroundings in the world,” he adds.
Anthony opted to have his Hot 100 picture taken at the Sir John Cass Faculty of Art, Architecture and Design in East London, where he spent many enjoyable hours studying as a 15-year-old apprentice. He says: “I owe a great deal to that period in my life. It gave me a thirst for success within the jewellery industry and transformed me from a young boy into a young businessman, in a very short period of time.”
