Chrysalis co-founders Andy and Dave Maine have witnessed rapid international expansion of their brand thanks to a licensing agreement with Richline Group, which supplies major retailers in the USA and Canada.
“At the last count we were in 47 countries around the globe, supplying over 3,000 stores worldwide, including major multiple department and jewellery stores,” says Andy.
“Many of these stores are expanding their locations and retail spaces, with new doors opening across each territory, and we have also taken on new territories including China and the Middle East,” she adds.
With these numbers rising every day through collaboration with distributors in each market, the husband-and-wife team has also been focusing on growing the network of Chrysalis shop-in-shops at key retail outlets such as Goldsmiths and Mococo in the UK.
“We’ve expanded our furniture portfolio, with our new lightbox spinners being a huge success,” Dave says. “They have lockable doors and display the merchandise with meaning cards, generating a very high volume of sales from a limited space.”
Meanwhile, the Chrysalis marketing team in London works to fulfil customer needs and drive sales via marketing and social media campaigns.
Though this hard work can be all-consuming at times, with lots of international travel, Andy and Dave manage to socialise through entertaining distributors, colleagues and friends at their country abode, and spend plenty of time with their two young daughters, Willow and Daisy – often at the office swimming pool.
“Both of our girls love designing jewellery, and in fact we won the PJ Collection of the Year for Willow’s Wishes collection!” says Andy.
