ChloBo’s founder on winning 100 stores and reacting to trends.
As we look forward to the reveal of the Professional Jeweller Hot 100 2013 on September 3 we hear from 2012’s NexGems about being part of the Hot 100, what it means for business and what’s next for the jewellery brands. Chloe Moss, founder of jewellery brand ChloBo, says the Hot 100 helped to elevate the brand in the UK market.
Professional Jeweller: You were named a Professional Jeweller Hot 100 NexGem in 2012 – what did this mean for your business?
Chloe Moss: Since being named a NexGem brand recognition and awareness has been elevated massively for ChloBo. As a result we have seen an increased number of retail enquiries and orders being place. To see myself named in the Hot 100 alongside some incredible, established designers was a personal highlight for 2012 and something that will stay with me.
PJ: Tell us about the year since the Hot 100, how has business evolved?
CM: The past year has been so positive for us in many ways. We launched our first ever gold vermeil collection which was something I had wanted to do for a long time. We have received an amazing response to the range which is a huge thrill for me and all of my team. We have also taken on 40 new retailers, which is great news and I am so happy to have each and every one of them on board with us.
PJ: What can we expect next from the brand?
CM: As a young designer the current shift to fashion-focused design suits me as I can relate to and react quickly to trends and a changing market. I want to keep increasing ChloBo’s offering and in response to the hugely positive reaction to our gold launch I am looking into rose gold for future collections. I am also developing ChloBoy and want to expand further into the men’s market with a new collection. My brothers now work within the business as well so I will look to them for input. We now have more than 100 stores nationwide, and are currently looking towards international expansion, which will be a huge challenge for us but also incredibly exciting.
