Buying group to inspire retailers with new product and advice.

The Houlden Group is set to host its summer management and buying event this month, taking residence at the East Sussex National hotel between June 18 to 20.

This summer’s event will feature new training seminars for its retail and supplier members as well as a number of guest speakers including Amanda Lindsay who will host a session focused on Accelerated Learning. The event’s keynote speaker for 2013 is Phillip Hesketh who will talk animatedly about How to Succeed When Others are Failing.

Houlden is also introducing a series of informal mini-workshops on issues affecting the independent retailers and the industry covering a host of topics such as branding and marketing.

The Stadium Sell sessions return this summer too, owing to popular demand. During the sessions invited Houlden suppliers are given the opportunity to pitch their product to an audience.

Houlden Group chief executive Stuart Laing said: "Experience tells us that success is based on many factors but perhaps the most important key to success is having a strong, motivated and knowledgeable team in place.

"As well as introducing new training seminars for our members we are also continuing to inspire members at our annual events with influential speakers."

The three-day event will also feature a showcase of the latest jewellery and watch ranges from Houlden’s 80 suppliers, including those who have signed up to Houlden in 2013, providing a chance to network and make buying decisions.

Houlden says its touring 2013 Houlden Designs of Excellence Collection has also proved popular so far this year, and will make an appearance at the summer meeting before heading to Hartmanns of Galway in Ireland.
