IJL and BJA open entries for KickStart 2014

Initiative marks six years supporting emerging jewellery talents.

Trade show International Jewellery London (IJL) and the British Jewellers’ Association (BJA) have opened entries for 2014’s KickStart program.

The annual initiative supports emerging jewellery designers seeking to build their brand name in the UK, allowing a group of 10 designers to showcase their work within the Design Gallery at the IJL show in September.

Applicants are asked to send in three images of their work, with a description of each piece and their wholesale prices to the IJL team via email, or posted to IJL’s head office.

Judging will take place at the end of March 2014 and entrants will be contacted in early April by a member of the IJL team if their application was successful.

The 2013 KickStart line-up were Kattri, Anna Byers Jewellery, Annabelle Lucilla Jewellery, Catherine Budd, Chistiana Christoforou, Jenny Llewellyn, Katie Jamieson, Rosie Sanders, Phoebe Jewellery and Sarah Gunn.

A number of the designers have teamed up to work together on new projects, with Byers, Christoforou, Gunn, Sanders and Sherwood-Moore now set to take part in the East London Design Show (ELDS) together at the Truman Brewery between December 5 and 8, as the Future Facets collective.
