International Jewellery London has partnered with jewellery trend intelligence agency Adorn Insight to produce a round-up of catwalk trends that could influence your buying decisions for AW15.
Adorn Insight has chosen five key looks that will make an impact this winter, including Crystal Amaze; Geo-Sphere; Super Seventies; Dark Side and Blooming Marvellous.
More information on each trend can be seen below…
This vintage-inspired look includes gem-encrusted dangles, drops and decorative motifs. Filigree and granulation are expected to be big, with richly hued gemstones adding grandeur to classic shapes.
According to Adorn Insight: “Large, small, bifurcated, two-tone, solo or clustered, monochrome or multi-coloured – if one component dominated the AW15/16 catwalks, it was the orb.”
Pearls are expected to be popular within this trend, plus combinations of sizes, textures and colours to add interested to geometric, circular designs.
Fabric and chain fringes are expected to play a big part in the 1970s jewellery revival, with chokers, molten-look metals and chunky gemstones with a rough-finish also offering points of difference.
Think rebellious youth, Fifty Shades of Grey and a dash of punk for this trend, which is manifested in overlapping and articulated jewels with a hardware feel. Buckles, rivets, bolts and chains are predicted to be popular.
“Focus on solutions that create an impression of volume,” explains Adorn Insight. “Gently rippling edges and undulating surfaces are perfect for leaf and petal-based looks. Explore colour in the form of pavé gemstones in graduated hues, enamel embellishment, mixed golds and even colourful titanium flourishes.”
International Jewellery London will take place at Olympia in London from September 6 to 8 2015.
