Outstanding quality at Goldsmiths awards warrants two gold winners.
The IJL Special Award in Fine Jewellery has been won by two designers for the first time.
Andrew Lamb and Irmgard Frauscher were each presented with gold awards in the category sponsored by the jewellery exhibition as part of the Goldsmiths’ Craftsmanship & Design Awards.
“The number of entries was so large this year, and the standard so high, that we had to award two gold winners rather than one for the first time,” explained Syreeta Transfield, event director for IJL, the UK’s largest jewellery exhibition.
Andrew Lamb was recognised for a silver and gold brooch which produces different images with movement depending on the way light strikes it, and Irmgard Frauscher, won gold for her fully articulated stone set necklace. Both are self employed designer/makers.
