Christopher Carry, partner, Jamieson & Carry
Jamieson & Carry in Aberdeen is a jeweller that is in the midst of a lot of positive change; it has installed new Rolex and Patek Philippe areas in its store, is developing its online presence and is working on increasing its marketing.
The retailer is still very much a family-run business, which has been established in the city since 1908 and has been in its current location since 1925, and partner Christopher Carry has been instrumental in helping the business to evolve to keep up with market trends.
“We have continued to grow over the last 12 months,” says Christopher proudly. “We have achieved this growth by exhibiting at events such as The Scottish Open at Castle Stuart with Rolex, and in store we will be exhibiting the Houlden Group’s Designers of Excellence including Sarah Ho, and also a Patek Phlippe event showcasing the BaselWorld 2011 collection.”
After making the decision to join the family business Christopher has taken to the jewellery industry like a duck to water and submerged himself in learning about the trade, travelling away from Aberdeen to work with Boodles to gain his training.
As well as his successes at Jamieson & Carry, Christopher has marked a personal professional milestone this year when he stepped up to take on a role as one of the new directors of buying group Houlden. “Joining Houlden is a great honour and I am looking forward to an exciting term,” he says.
