Independent jeweller launches innovative summer campaign

Independent jewellery retailer Drakes has launched a Summer Memories campaign to capture the true essence of the season and encourage consumer interaction.

From Thursday June 1, Drakes flagship store, located in the Drake Circus Shopping Centre in Plymouth’s City centre, will be covered in photos of their customers’ favourite Summer memories. From a camping trip with friends, a day at the beach, or even a wedding, Drakes is encouraging everyone to get involved and be a part of its summer display.

By inviting consumers to display their memories in store, the innovative campaign gives shoppers one more reason to visit the jewellery retailer- whether looking to view their own photo, or coming into view the display to see if they can spot anyone they know.

The Drakes team has been busy collecting photos through their Facebook page for the display and is now encouraging consumers on social media to do the same  and be a part of creating summer memories.

To be involved, consumers simply have to head over to the Drakes Facebook page and comment on the store’s post with a picture of their favourite summer memory with the hashtag #SummerMemory.

By using social media as the tool for this campaign, Drakes has not only created a way to draw people in store who want to be a part of the display, or spot their friends and family in it, but the independent retailer has also provided an opportunity to increase its Facebook followers and build its online presence.

“Our Summer window display is the perfect way to celebrate all things summer, says Drakes Droup marketing manager, Nikki Price. “We love being able to engage with our customers and share their favourite memories. Everyone will be able to visit the store, once our window display has been revealed, to see if they can spot their own photo.”
