Independent jewellery retailer is pretty in pink for charity

A Leicestershire Jeweller underwent a glittery transformation to raise money for a local charity.

Independent jewellery retailer Grace & Co Jewellery transformed itself into a pink, glittery paradise with a bevy of unicorns, balloons and sweets on Saturday, June 16, to raise funds for a local charity, Olivia’s Journey.

Olivia’s Journey was set up to raise money for four-year-old Olivia Fern, who was diagnosed with a rare brain tumour in 2014. Despite 16 sessions of chemotherapy, more treatment is needed and Olivia will need to have Proton Beam Therapy in the US. Olivia is also a fundraising ambassador for the Children’s Brain Tumour Research at Nottingham Queens Medical Centre where she is being treated.

In support of Olivia’s Journey, Grace & Co Jewellery ran a series of games, including pin the horn on the unicorn, name the bear, a raffle, giveaways and free gifts. Through its glitter-filled day of events, the retailer managed to raise around £500 to support Olivia’s Journey.

Carla Vickers, Grace & Co Jewellery’s store manager, shares: “We wanted to create an exciting and unique event to help raise money for this fantastic little girl. She told us that she liked glitter and unicorns – so that’s what we did.”

Grace & Co Jewellery was set up in 2010 by two jewellery professionals with over 20 years experience between them.

Today the independent retailer has six stores in the UK.
