Issey Miyake Vue watch series makes UK debut

MSS Watch Company Ltd showcases new series at IJL 2010.

MSS Watch Company will be showcasing the new Issey Miyake Vue watch series, by US industrial designer Yves Behar, at IJL this year.

The watch is unique in that uses a disc hour hand with partial arc slits, so that only the present hour is shown.

The idea behind the design is that ‘we see with our own eyes, the present becoming the past and the future becoming the present’.

San Francisco-based designer Yves Behar said: “A watch is a mind-set about the idea of time.”

The MSS Watch Company sells collections of affordable design-led watches in the UK and is the sole distributors for Danish Design Watches & Jewellery, Rosendahl Watches and Issey Miyake Watches.

Issey Miyake, a world-famous Japanese designer, is famous for his iconic clothing and perfume collections. He has worked with a number of world-famous designers in an attempt to produce unique watch collections.

Yves Béhar, an industrial designer, was born in Switzerland in 1967. He graduated from the Art Center College of Design and established his design studio in 1999. His designs have garnered more than 150 awards, and his work is in the permanent collection of museums including the Pompidou Center, the MoMA, the Munich Museum of Applied Arts and the Art Institute of Chicago.
