The President’s daughter Ivanka Trump has ceased production of her fine jewellery line to pursue the fashion market instead.
The company, which launched in 2007, released a statement confirming the end of the fine jewellery line in favour of more affordable products.
“As part of our company’s commitment to offering solution-oriented products at accessible price points, we have decided to discontinue the Ivanka Trump Fine Jewelry collection,” said Abigail Klem, president of the Ivanka Trump brand, in the statement. “We will be focusing our efforts on existing and new categories that are most relevant to our loyal customers—including fashion jewelry, which successfully launched last fall with price points that are aligned with the rest of our collection.”
Ivanka Trump officially stepped back from her eponymous company at the beginning of the year following backlash from her father’s presidency, which saw campaigners encouraging shoppers to boycott shops stocking products linked to the Tump family. Since then, Klem has been at the helm.
The brand’s fashion jewellery offering includes a variety of pieces under $60, and while there is no news yet on how this will be adapted and expanded, it is clear that for the foreseeable future Ivanka Trump Jewelry will be swapping diamonds for lower priced materials.
