Jacobs the Jewellers in partnership with The Bishopsland Educational Trust, The Worshipful Company of Goldsmiths and HS Walsh have announced he winners of their annual Young Designer competition.
Over 100 public votes were cast between the young Bishopsland-based jewellery designers exhibiting their designs in Jacobs’ Reading shop throughout the month of June.
Votes were put by the public forward for favourite jewellery designs as well as preferred silver object designs. Once the votes were counted the winners were as follows:
Susan Macleod with a winning Wild Sweetpea necklace jewellery design Wild and Elizabeth Hendricks whose silver tea light holder won the hearts of the public.
Both Macleod and Hendricks have won a framed presentation certificate and £500 worth of vouchers to spend on tools or materials to help establish their careers in the jewellery and silver industry.
Jacobs the Jewellers owner, Ian Jacobs, comments: “Our customers loved the pieceson show this year andwe arethrilled with the positive feedback we get for supporting creative young talent. I thoroughly hope the designers take the experience gained by exhibiting their work in our shop to further progress their careers.”
