Special ‘SME made by Apprenticeship’ event for Apprenticeship Week.

Holts Group chief executive officer and Government Apprenticeship Ambassador, Jason Holt CBE, hosted a ‘SME made by Apprenticeship’ event at the House of Commons on March 10 to support National Apprenticeship Week.

The family business owner has devoted and dedicated his time to helping young people develop their talents over the past 15 years. Alongside his contributions to SMEs, he has helped grow his own business through apprenticeships at Holts Academy and Holts London.

Holt also announced the launch of Apprenticemakers, a new online mentoring service for small businesses.

Holt said: “In launching National Apprenticeship Week, we are celebrating the 2.1 million apprenticeship starts since 2010 and the positive impact they are having on businesses around the country.”

“The benefits of apprenticeships are clear – but we need to do more to explain the benefits of apprenticeships to small businesses. This is why Apprenticemakers will provide SMEs interested in taking on apprentices with a mentor to help guide them through the process.”

Jason Holt was recently awarded a CBE in the Queen’s New Years Honours List.
