Jeweller robbed of 450 wedding bands in St Albans

Hertfordshire worker attacked and thousands of pounds of stock stolen.

Police are warning jewellers to be on the lookout for stolen wedding rings after a man working for a Hertfordshire jewellery company was robbed of thousands of pounds-worth of product.

The man, who has not been named, was hit in the face by a thief who then grabbed a bag containing 450 gold and diamond wedding rings and fled the scene. The man, who was not seriously injured in the attack, was said to be on his way to return the wedding rings to the jewellery company’s headquarters in St Albans.

Police are searching for four men of Middle Eastern appearance. The main assailant is described as 5ft 8in and aged between 30 and 35 years of age, while his accomplices are thought to be aged between 25 and 30 years old.
