Jewellery agents jump ship to push GemsOne in UK

After 14 years with Leslie Donn of Manchester, David Gilbert has left to take up the role of sales director with GemsOne, a jewellery manufacturer that is set to take on the UK market.

GemsOne is based in India and the US but it set to drive it sales of Bridal Bells diamond engagement and wedding rings which are available in 9ct, 14ct and 18ct gold and palladium and platinum through its office in the UK. The company also has silver collections and has already been approved by the British Jewellers’ Association (BJA).

Gilbert said of his new role and the company: “Trade is changing at a considerable rate and the time was right to move to this exciting mix of product, service and jaw-dropping marketing initiatives, it’s about knowing what’s next; gemsone have established a real must have following in the US and now it’s time for the UK.”

He will be joined at GemsOne by Robin Henderson who has worked with wedding and engagement ring specialists Brown & Newirth for 22 years. Henderson will cover Yorkshire, the Northeast, Scotland, Ireland and Channel Isles as sales director.

Henderson said that he was bowled over with the collections and marketing initiatives used in the US that are not seen here in the UK. "It’s a case of being able to offer a full and profitable service across bridal, everyday and fashion jewellery in platinum, gold, and palladium and silver with an additional loose diamond service so good they supply other international manufacturers.”

he collections include 14ct gold engagement rings, gemstone rings, stud earrings, bracelets and gents designs. A number of pieces in silver are also available. The company will also be showing at IJL in September.
