Lebanese designer to compliment catwalk with ebony and gold designs
Jewellery brand N.oor will see its designs on the catwalk at London Fashion Week this weekend, in collaboration with fashion designer Issa.
Designs from N.oor’s U-Tube and Touche de Bois collections will feature and include sculpted, branch-like ebony bangles and gold, diamond and ebony earrings which have an unusual, interchangeable desisng. N.oor has also given Issa designer Daniella Helayel a special glove to wear, made from tiny ebony beads, playing on the idea of touching wood for good luck.
The pieces will be worn at Issa’s catwalk show on Saturday 19 at London’s Somerset House. Issa is best known for its sell-out sapphire blue dress worn by Kate Middleton at the announcement of her engagement to Prince William.
N.oor is an emerging jewellery brand in the UK founded by Lebanese designer Noor Fares, who began making jewellery as a hobby several years ago but has since turned it into her career. With an upbrining which has seen her live and study across several continents, Fares is inspired by a range of influences including architecture and her middle eastern backgroup.
Fares says: "My passion for jewellery began when I was very young. I used to search through my mother’s drawers and try on all her beautiful pieces. I would pile on all her jewellery and every accessory I could find, and wander around the house looking like a Christmas tree."
