Rosewill Cottage will sell beads, charm jewellery and jewellery-making supplies. McLean said: “Rosewill Cottage’s main focus will be on beads and it will also be a workshop for Rosewill’s Charms where people can order bespoke jewellery and charms in store. It is scheduled to open its doors on Saturday 23 October in time for the festive season.”

McLean had previously been selling her jewellery online at and through eBay. She has also done commission work for TV and music star Adam Rickitt through fashion designer Scott Henshall.

Speaking of the commission, she said: “When Scott approached me I jumped at the chance to create some pieces for Adam but it was the most nerve-wracking experience ever. Imagine sending photos of your designs to an internationally renowned fashion designer. I did find it a challenge because I don’t normally create jewellery for men, but it has been the most rewarding opportunity I have had to date.”

Henshall is a great supporter of McLean and has praised her designs in the men’s market. He said: "Dawn creates the most exquisite and truly original pieces of men’s jewellery that stand out from what else is on the market. Dawn also makes the most exquisite made-to-order pieces that are only limited by her own imagination, to which I see no limits."
