Jo Henderson launches jewellery consultancy firm

Former Wave director starts work with Clogau and Fei Liu.

Former Wave Jewellery director Jo Henderson has launched her own jewellery consultancy business, JHJC, focused on developing the performance and profit potential of people in the jewellery industry.

Henderson told Professional Jeweller she been working on developing JHJC for about a year, making the business a reality over the past three months. JHJC will offer training and business development consultancy for the jewellery industry, targeting brands of all sizes and retailers. 

Henderson said: "As a qualified teacher before coming into the jewellery industry over 15 years ago, I am dedicated to the development of people and always have been.

"I will specialise in providing advice on most aspects of the industry having had extensive experience in all areas both in retail and within a brand. However my passion and talent is for training and believing in the potential within our people both business-to-business and business-to-consumer," she added.

In her previous role at Wave, Henderson oversaw the creation and implementation of a full training, coaching and KPI programme for six stores. She was also in charge of visual merchandising and store design and launches, as well as buying, design and brand building.

Most recently, Henderson has been overseeing the development of the Fei Liu brand and its bridal jewellery offer and business direction. She said: "At Fei Liu I was brought in for change management and strategic planning and well as designing KPIs for sales and marketing growth. I worked on range development and promotion and awards. I also implemented a recruitment, staff training and review system."

Henderson will remain a consultant at a strategic level for Fei Liu, alongside current work at Clogau, where she has been brought on board to develop elements of its new Compose jewellery range, including a training programme.

She is also working with a number of independent retailers writing and delivering bespoke training packages and is helping emerging jewellery brand Esoteric Luxury on an advisory level.

Henderson told Professional Jeweller of her plans for JHJC, stating: "I am looking to work with any jewellery businesses; trade or retail to whom I can add value through training, staff development, product development and market positioning, strategic planning and KPI implementation."
