Nigel Ling takes over Ti Sento UK country manager role.
IBB Amsterdam has appointed a new UK country manager for jewellery brands Ti Sento and Mi Moneda, marking the departure of long-standing country manager Judith Lockwood and the arrival of Nigel Ling.
Ling will fulfil Lockwood’s role on March 7. He has previously worked for Gieves and Hawkes, where he held the role of retail and licensing director, driving the turnaround of the business ahead of its sale.
Lockwood is set to pursue a new role in the jewellery industry, with further details due to be released this week. She has worked for IBB Amsterdam since 2008 and has been responsible for the growth and management of the UK sales team. Lockwood was also named a Business Big Shot in the Professional Jeweller Hot 100 2011.
The current Ti Sento and Mi Moneda team will remain in place under the management of Ling, who has been appointed for an initial five month contract.
Ling said: "I am delighted to join IBB for this interim period and am really looking forward to working closely with the teams in the market and at head office in Amsterdam. My aim is to translate the global strategy to the local UK market which will help Ti Sento to continue to establish itself as an important fashion jewellery brand and enable it to realise its potential in the UK market.”
Ling has also gained luxury brand experience within retail and wholesale management for Dunhill, Jaeger menswear and Harrods. He will use this experience to enhance the Ti Sento and Mi Moneda brands across the UK, building on the work previously undertaken by Judith Lockwood.
Judith Lockwood said: "It has truly been an amazing experience to be part of such a unique family business and to eat, sleep and breathe the brands Ti Sento and Mi Moneda for the last five incredible years. Backed by all the IBB team in Amsterdam and the supportive network of Ti Sento retail-partners and to work with and build one of the most highly respected teams in the industry."
Commenting on the new appointment, IBB Amsterdam managing director of own brands Arjan van Zuylen said: “Judith has very successfully contributed to the development of Ti Sento Milano, including winning the prestigious Jewellery Brand of the Year award in both 2010 and 2011. We thank Judith for her unwavering dedication to IBB Amsterdam over the past five years and we wish her all the very best for the future.
“We also extend a warm IBB Amsterdam family welcome to Nigel Ling, who has impressed us with his commitment, energy and vision for what he can achieve for our brands throughout the UK,” said van Zuylen.
More details regarding Lockwood’s new role will be announced by Professional Jeweller this week.
