Designer finds inspiration for SS11 collection from temptress Lilith.

Katie Rowland has announced she will be launching her SS11 collection Lilith at London Fashion Week this year.

The new collection is inspired by biblical references to Lilith and her ability to lure men into sacrificial unions.

As part of the overarching theme, triangles – symbolic of the holy trinity – are shaped into rings, earrings and pendants, connected by delicate chains.

In an attempt to mirror Lilith’s treacherous nature and resemblance to vampires, pieces have also been edged with stone to provide a fang like appearance and give the collection a dangerous, yet seductive, feel.

Rowland, a trained graphic designer, has created many original pieces through the integration of graphic design into luxury jewellery. She has been awarded the Coutts New Designer Award 2009, the Sonama-Cutrer Design Award 2009 and the Lonmin Design Innovation Award for Platinum 2009 & 2010.

The designer was also a finalist for New Designer of the Year and Catwalk Jewels of the Year 2010, at the UK Jewellery Awards. She was recently named as one of the ‘HOT 100’ by Professional Jeweller magazine and the Company of Master Jewellers.

Rowland’s celebrity following includes names such as Cheryl Cole, Coco Sumner, Tali Lennox, and Danni Minogue. Her collections are available at Liberty of London.
