Designer to launch first fine jewellery collection at Spring Fair
Katie Rowland will unveil her debut fine jewellery collection Satori at The Jewellery Show at Spring Fair.
Rowland, a finalist for New Designer of the Year and Catwalk Jeweller of the Year at the UK Jewellery Awards in 2010, is known for her striking statement jewellery. This will be Rowland’s first fine jewellery range, which she will launch at The Design Quarter of the Jewellery Show at Spring Fair, next week.
Celebrating the serene, the Satori collection is made using 18ct rose gold with natural diamonds, creating "striking but not obvious feminine pieces." The collection of diamond earrings, pendants and rings is described as encapsulating elegant luxury while challenging modern conventions of beauty.
The Satori collection is named after the Japanese word for the first step of enlightenment, achieved through an understanding of simplicity and imperfection. Inspired by this Japanese teaching of finding beauty in imperfection, Rowland has taken" the barest essence of a diamond and embraced its intrigue and uniqueness."
The natural diamonds have a look similar to cracked glass and are set unconventionally upside down to emphasise their delicacy, whilst retaining Rowland’s trademark edgy style.
