Pop star to wear Thomas Sabo jewellery and feature in ad campaign.
Thomas Sabo has signed Katy Perry as the new face of the jewellery brand.
As part of the ambassador deal Thomas Sabo will sponsor the popstrel’s concerts, she will only wear Thomas Sabo jewellery and she will also make an appearance at Munich jewellery trade show Inhorgenta on behalf of the brand.
Thomas Sabo UK managing director Harald Winzer said that there has “never been a face of Thomas Sabo” before.
Perry will feature in the brand’s advertising campaign which will be run across a number of high-profile consumer magazines, as well as in Professional Jeweller from March.
The ads will promote Thomas Sabo’s new spring/summer collection which is called Pop Now and is influenced by elements such as neon, pop music, pop art, Andy Warhol and disco. This bold and colourful direction for the brand makes Katy Perry a perfect fit, according to Winzer.
Thomas Sabo has also introduced a male model to its advertising campaign for its male jewellery for the first time. The brand had previously only used creatives with product shots but has now shot a campaign with a male model placed next to a product shot.
To push its male jewellery line the brand has also teamed up once again with Formula 1 racing car driver Nico Rosberg.
