IJL’s Kickstarter is a treasure trove of design inspiration from around the world, and the stand of Addalit is no exception.
The fledgling jewellery business was created by Jonna Jarvenpaa and Laura Vilppula, who both come from Finland, but are now working from London on their designs.
The collection on show at Addalit’s stand was inspired by Finnish nature, portraying the four seasons of summer and its white nights, dark and snowy winter, autumn foliage and the first signs of spring.
Addalit aims to provide a semi-bespoke service where its limited edition pieces can be personalised at its London workshop.
Jarvenpaa, a former fashion model, studied shoe design in Finland before taking jewellery courses at London’s Central St Martins college, graduating with a degree in fashion marketing.
Vilppula studied at the Gemological Institute of America, where she developed a passion for the diamonds and other precious stones used in Addalit’s designs.
