Royal-to-be thanks designers for touching Honey-Moon gift.
Natasha Faith and Semhal Zemikael of jewellery brand La Diosa have designed a silver and topaz pendant for royal-to-be Kate Middleton.
The pair, who have a shop in Hatton Garden as well as a wholesale jewellery business, created a silver and blue topaz pendant for Middleton called Honey-Moon and sent it to the bride-to-be as an unsolicited gift. While the designers were expecting to have the package returned to them they instead received a letter from Clarence House expressing Middleton’s thanks and claiming that the fiancé of Prince William had been “touched” by the gift.
Faith and Zemikael decided to create the pendant for Middleton after finding a picture of Faith’s mother Edith Biryabarema with the late Princess Diana, who was at the time wearing the Garrard engagement ring now worn by Middleton. The girls embarked on the design of the pendant for Middleton as a way to continue the connection between Faith’s family and the most talked about engagement ring of all time.
La Diosa is now selling the Honey-Moon pendant on its website. The silver and blue tipaz pendant has a retail price of £240 and the brand has said that it can create 18ct gold versions on request.
