Seven designers heading to Couture with a help from UKTI.

UK Trade & Investment is helping seven of the British Fashion Council’s (BFC) Rock Vault jewellery designers to showcase their jewels in Las Vegas, sharing a ballroom space with Stephen Webster at the upcoming Couture jewellery show.

Jewellery designers Fernando Jorge, Hannah Martin, Imogen Belfield, Jo Hayes Ward, Melanie Georgacopoulos, Tomasz Donocik and Yunus & Eliza will present their collections within the Stephen Webster ballroom to US press and buyers during Couture’s five day showcase.

They will fly out to Las Vegas for the Couture Show which takes place between May 30 and June 3, having previously showcased their work at September and February’s London Fashion Weeks within Rock Vault‘s dedicated area. It is hoped that Couture will give them the opportunity to boost awareness and exposure to an overseas audience.

Rock Vault is an initiative developed by the BFC and curated by Stephen Webster which nurtures and supports creative fine jewellery talent based in Britain.

Caroline Rush, chief executive of the BFC, said: "The Couture Show in Vegas is one of the best jewellery trade shows in the world and is a key sales destination for all jewellery brands.

"The fact that the Rock Vault designers are able to take part in the show at this early stage in their business development is a great opportunity for them. This trip wouldn’t have been possible without support from UK Trade & Investment (UKTI) and Stephen Webster. I’d like to take this opportunity to thank Stephen for his continuous support and enthusiasm for the initiative.”

The Couture Show was established more than 18 years ago and has become a destination event for high-end jewellery designers to showcase their work, attracting "the most sought after audience of international retailers".

British brands such as Stephen Webster, Rodney Rayner and Shaun Leane have used the show as a springboard to develop their international relations.

Stephen Webster said: “Stephen Webster has now exhibited at Couture show, first in Phoenix then in the current home of Las Vegas, for fifteen years. Our brand has grown along with the show. Couture is without question the only true luxury jewellery event held in the US.

"We are excited and proud to be showcasing Rock Vault for the first time outside of the UK. Rock Vault will be situated within the Stephen Webster ballroom guaranteeing great exposure from the start. The enthusiasm from the retailers and the show its self has been immense.”

UK Trade & Investment is supporting these designers in a bid to help build global markets for emerging and fresh British jewellery brands.
