Today is the final day to nominate your bestselling jewellery collections for Professional Jeweller‘s inaugural Collections of the Year, which will present the best ranges launched in 2014 across 10 exciting categories.

Collections of the Year is calling from nominations from jewellery brands and retailers alike, and is focused on collections sold at a wholesale level in the UK.

We’re asking for your to nominate this year’s bestselling or most inspiring ranges to be part of a special December 2014 issue of the magazine, where 10 winning collections will be named.

Perfectly placed to mark the close of 2014, Professional Jeweller’s Collections of the Year will celebrate the brightest and bestselling ranges in the UK, from the past 12 months. The project will take into account the opinions of knowledgeable jewellery retail buyers, brand managers and key tastemakers from the UK jewellery industry, rather than the end consumer, providing a clear guide of inspiring designs and which collections have been selling strongly in stores.

Rather than acknowledging one specific, stand-out piece, the editorial team at Professional Jeweller is seeking to showcase cohesive and exciting collections that span a variety of pieces, including rings, earrings, necklaces, pendants and bracelets. This will also include an award dedicated to the growing men’s jewellery and accessories sector.

Commenting on the launch of Professional Jeweller’s Collections of the Year, editor Kathryn Bishop says: “If you’ve been eyeing-up a particularly stunning collection since Jewellery & Watch Birmingham, BaselWorld or IJL, now is the time to show your appreciation for excellent craftsmanship and storytelling by nominating your favourite or bestselling ranges.

"Collections of the Year is open to all types of brand; from innovative, fashion-forward and contemporary ranges to highly-commercial, unbranded lines. We want to hear from you as to which brands and ranges have been your top-performing collections in 2014.”

The nominations process will be open to all members of the industry, with retailers encouraged to highlight their bestselling collections of 2014 by nominating a range for each of the 10 categories. Similarly, brands and designer-makers will be able to nominate their own collections and those launched by their peers.

Collections of the Year is being promoted using the social media hashtag #PJCOTY

A nominations form is available to download here. Once filled in, the completed form can be emailed to Professional Jeweller editor Kathryn Bishop (kathryn.bishop@itppromedia.com) or assistant editor Sarah Louise Jordan (sarah.jordan@itppromedia.com).

The deadline for entries is Friday October 31 2014, giving all interested parties ample time to send their Collections of the Year nominations.

Entrants will be asked to nominate just one collection per category. However, it is possible to nominate the same brand or designer for multiple categories as long as they have a dedicated collection that suits the conditions of that category.

Collections that launched prior to January 1 2014 will not be considered.

Collections chosen as overall winners and finalists will not necessarily be based on overall sales, and as such Professional Jeweller encourages independent designer-makers to put forward their designs for consideration.

If you have any questions prior to the opening of Collections of the Year nominations on October 6, please contact the Professional Jeweller editorial team.

Companies interested in sponsoring one or more of the 10 categories are encouraged to contact account manager Michael Viney – michael.viney@itppromedia.com
