Lee Renee launches ethical sister brand

The founder of fashion jewellery brand Lee Renee has launched a new ethical sister brand called No 13.

No 13 is a brand based on the values of social responsibility, excellence, integrity and sustainability. As such, all pieces have been crafted from recycled silver and eco-friendly, recycled packaging.

Inspired by nature and indigenous artisans who live in some of the remotest and endangered places on the planet, founder Lee Preston wanted to work alongside Sami artisans who inhabit the Arctic Circles to bring consumers original and contemporary designs.

Discussing the debut collection, founder Lee Preston comments: ” My aim was to create a modern twist on ancient Sami styles, and in doing so make something luxurious, beautiful and sustainably-sourced, with lots of the pieces featuring naturally shed Reindeer antlers, hand carved into unique cabochon stones, which is then hand etched with ancient Sami patterns and inlayed with India ink and silver to bring out the detailing.”

As this collaboration is with an indigenous culture that is heavily affected by people’s actions on the planet, a percentage of the profits from No 13 will be donated to the National Wildlife Federation – a conservation group which unites individuals and businesses to protect wildlife, wild places, and the environment.
