Designer launches own brand after stints with Buccellati and Adler.
Jewellery designer Lestie Lee has launched a brand under her own name, taking on the services of jewellery PR Juliet Rowe to launch her into the mainstream.
Lee, a Central Saint Martins’ graduate and a GIA qualified gemmologist has previously worked for the likes of Adler, Buccellati and Jimmy Choo Couture. She was born in Hong Kong and moved to the UK with her family aged 12.
Her jewellery designs have a distinct theme – a play on diamonds and the shape and facets of cut gemstones, with ‘diamond’ rings, studs and bracelets featuring semi-precious gemstones such as onyx, malachite and pearls, and a mix of silver and gold vermeil.
After working with luxury jewellery brands, Lee studies gemmology where she became fascinated with gemstones – how they were formed, cut and polished.
Lee said: “This in fact is why my first collection is inspired by diamond cutting.
“I always like jewellery that has a story behind it, and something that can be admired, similar to a work of art. I prefer a simple but elegant style that also combines various different colours of metals and gemstones in the mix”.
All of Lee pieces are cast and hand finished in London, with RRPs upwards of £140 and peaking at £3,500.
Juliet Rowe has worked in jewellery PR for several years, working with brands such as Molly Brown.
