The city is beaten only by London thanks to Liverpool One

Retail scheme Liverpool One is claiming it has made Liverpool the top choice for retailers outside of London.

Speaking at business magazine Insider’s event Delivering Retail Growth, Liverpool One’s estates director Chris Bliss said that footfall at Liverpool One will hit 26 million by the end of the year and that 20 new shops have opened at the centre this year.

Bliss said that there has been a similar number of retail openings elsewhere in the city and has suggested that this is a knock-on effect. He added: “10 percent of our retailers are new to the Northwest and for some Liverpool’s now the second choice location in the UK outside of London. A scheme like this gives the city a huge PR platform to reach people and tell them what a great place Liverpool is to do business.”
