Synthetic diamond detection device to be presented during GIA seminar.
The Gemmological Institute of America (GIA) will present its highly anticipated DiamondCheck machine to the London Diamond Bourse during a seminar on May 22.
Members of both organisations and industry professionals are welcome to attend the event that will officially present the new DiamondCheck machine in the UK.
The device has been designed to detect synthetic diamonds and prevent them from entering the market as natural diamonds. It is hoped the detection technology will help maintain consumer confidence in the long term.
The seminar on May 22 will feature guest speakers, including GIA executive vice president Tom Moses and research scientist Dr Ulrika D’Haenens-Johansson.
