Company claims new product will be the next evolution of craze.
The London Pearl Company will unveil a new product at the CMJ Buyers’ Meeting this weekend that it believes will challenge crystal disco bracelets as the new must-have jewellery product.
The jewellery design mixes freshwater pears with anodised aluminium beads that can be produced “in all the colours of the rainbow”. The beads can also be made in a variety of shapes .
London Pearl Company owner Daniel Vecht said: “What seems to be very popular in the market is colour jewellery, especially these crystal beads and I’m hoping that this will be the next level of evolution of this product.”
The jewellery has not been photographed yet but retailers will be able to get a first glimpse of the range at London Pearl Company’s stand at the CMJ Buyers’ Meeting in Birmingham on Sunday and Monday.
The range is being launched under a new brand name for the company – Catherine’s Collection. The name of the brand has taken inspiration from the Duchess of Cambridge.
Vecht explained: “With the new princess Catherine I thought it would be a good link in as everybody is watching what she’s doing. Just before she got engaged we registered the names Princess Catherine and Catherine’s Collection for jewellery collections sold in the UK.”
While the London Pearl Company is targeting the middle market with this offer it is still catering for the luxury end of the jewellery business.
The company is exhibiting at BaselWorld in Switzerland next month where it will show off what it is claiming is the world’s largest collection of nucleated pearls varying in colour from white to pastel pink and orange and sized from 12mm to 19mm. It will also be showing of a range of South Sea pearls sized up to 21mm and will have items with RRPs of as much as £1 million on display.
