Luck be a lady with Van Cleef & Arpels’ Hina doll

A Japanese-inspired lucky amulet set with coral and black jade.

This Japanese-inspired Hina clip is part of Van Cleef & Arpel’s latest Palais de la Chance collection, and references the traditional handmade dolls given to young girls to bring them health, happiness and protection in their latter years.

The collection is designed around motifs of luck from around the world, whether shamrocks, ladybirds or shooting stars. To create this darling piece, Van Cleef has sourced coral from the Sea of Japan, carved to create the shape of the Hina doll’s kimono, while rubies, emeralds and black jade nephrite stud the headdress and costume using the brand’s Mystery Setting.

A little bit of luck to wear close to your chest, something we’d all like in the build up to Christmas.
