Lumbers Jewellers plots £1m store overhaul

Lumbers Jewellers

Midlands-based jeweller, Lumbers, is expanding its store with a £1 million relocation and refurbishment plan, moving from its current location to a larger retail showroom on the main high street in Leicester.

This marks a new era for the family run jewellers, which has been providing fine jewellery, luxury watch brands and coloured diamonds since 1881.

The move will see Lumbers increase in size from its current 600sqm store (6500sqft) to the new 1,500sqm (16,000sqft) shop. It will also increase its offering to customers – with new designer brands set to fill the expanded space.

The new store will include a jewellery, diamond and watch showroom, VIP lounge and gift department as well as a champagne bar for their customers.

Dominic Gomersall, managing director of Lumbers says of the relocation “I am extremely excited about the relocation and subsequent expansion of our store. Moving closer to the Highcross shopping centre in the centre of Leicester makes sense for us commercially and will give us the extra room to bring new brands into the store.”

Lumbers Jewellers is set to move in September 2015 and will also be offering an online store from August this year.
